Our club's 3x3 house league caters to youth basketball players in grades 3–11 seeking to elevate their game. The league welcomes players of all skill levels, ranging from beginners to advanced.

League Structure:

3x3 League Participation: All athletes will participate in the 3x3 league to foster greater skill development. This format allows players to engage in more frequent ball handling, shooting, and decision-making opportunities. The fast-paced nature of 3x3 basketball enhances their ability to:

Develop Technical Skills: Players will have more chances to practice and refine their shooting, dribbling, and passing skills in a dynamic environment.

Enhance Game Awareness: The limited number of players on the court encourages athletes to assess situations quickly, make rapid decisions, and adjust their strategies, leading to enhanced game intelligence.

Build Confidence: With more opportunities to handle the ball and take shots, athletes can gain confidence in their abilities, which translates to improved performance in both 3x3 and traditional 5v5 games.

5v5 'Selects' Teams: Athletes can also try out and register for 5v5 travel teams known as 'Selects' for an additional fee.

Scheduling: The schedule will be designed to allow athletes to participate in both the 3x3 league and the 5v5 travel teams without conflicts.

League Timeframe:

Our Fall 3x3 League is scheduled to begin the first week of October and end in the first week of December, aiming to finish one week before the kids go on Christmas break.

For athletes in grades 8 to 11, there will likely be some overlap between our 3x3 Club League and SD23 school basketball schedules. Westkhoops allows players the flexibility to participate in both as desired. Last year, SD23 school basketball began team tryouts and practices on November 14th.

By participating in our 3x3 league, players will have the chance to engage in well-organized games against other teams within their age group. Our primary focus is on fostering skill development, promoting teamwork, and instilling good sportsmanship. To ensure a high-quality experience, our 3x3 league is overseen by screened, dedicated, and talented volunteer coaches with ample experience. These coaches will provide valuable instruction, guidance, and feedback to players during both practices and games.

The league schedule will be structured so that each team has one practice and two 3x3 league games per week for eight weeks. The 9th week will consist of a 3x3 playoff round, including quarterfinals, semifinals, and a league championship game.

NOTE: Practice and game schedules depend on SD23 gym availability (best available) and will be finalized after the school district releases their gym schedule at the end of September.

All participants receive a reversible game jersey. Practices and Games are held on the west side only (no crossing the bridge). We make every effort to schedule the duration of our program at the same location for all age groups. Programs from one season to the next may alternate locations, depending on the availability of local gyms on the west side. Facilities include public and private schools in the SD23 West Kelowna region, as well as community and church gymnasiums when they are accessible. Glenrosa Middle School (our preferred location) hosted our 2025 spring season.

In addition to in-game instruction, we will provide developmental, skills-building drills for shooting, passing, ball-handling, rebounding, and defensive techniques to help players improve their skills.

Registration is 👉 NOW OPEN 👈 to players between the ages of 8 and 16, and we will do our best to form competitive and balanced teams based on players' skill levels and experience.
